Brace yourselves, iPhone 8 is here!

After months of anticipations and rumors, Apple has finally unveiled the most awaited iPhone 8 and 8 Plus at the Steve Jobs Theatre in Cupertino, Califoria, on Tuesday.

Apple CEO Tim Cook announces at the event that the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are updated versions of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus respectively, however, they sport a metal and glass bodies and come in two storage options - 64GB and 256GB.

Apple enthusiasts in India also get to lay their hands on the new iPhones at a starting price of Rs 64,000, while iPhone X is to cost Rs 89,000 in India. The 64GB variant of the phone will cost Rs. 64,000 while the higher version (256GB) device will cost Rs 77,000.

The iPhone 8 Plus will have a starting price of Rs 73,000. For the 256GB variant it will cost Rs 86,000. In India the new iPhone 8 and 8 Plus will be on sale from September, 29th. However, iPhone X will be available from November, 3rd.

The iPhone 8 has a 4.7-inch 'Retina' display, while the iPhone 8 Plus comes with a 5.5-inch display. Both the phones have TrueTone display with cinema wide color gamut and 3D Touch. Both the smartphones are made from aerospace grade aluminum with a 7-layer color process.

The stereo speakers on the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are 25 percent louder than the ones on the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. Apple's iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are powered by A11 Bionic SoC six-core processors and improved GPU, which is 30 percent more efficient than the GPUs in last year's models. The new phone will come in new color options namely Silver, Space Gray, and Gold Finish.

With a launch base price of $999 for the 64GB version, the iPhone X flaunts a brighter and more energy-efficient OLED display screen. A front facing 3-D sensor array recognizes users’ faces to unlock the handset.

The launch event marked the 10th anniversary of the first iPhone and a soulful remembrance was paid to of the late co-founder, Steve Jobs.
